New to the Nest

6th Grade/New Student Orientation

Orientation for incoming 6th grade students as well as new students to Ernest Ward will be held on Thursday, August 13 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.


All incoming 7th grade students are required to have their Tdap vaccination prior to school starting.  If your student has not been vaccinated he/she will NOT be able to attend school.

Arrival/Drop Off Time

The earliest Student Drop off time is 8:45 a.m. for students who eat breakfast in the cafeteria.  All other Students drop off time is 8:55 a.m.

Ernest Ward Check Policy

THIS DOES NOT PERTAIN TO SCHOOL LUNCHES. The cafeteria is separate from the school. You may send your check made out to EWMS cafeteria for lunches.

We have a "No Personal Checks" policy at Ernest Ward Middle School.  We do not accept checks for any reason.  If you need to make a payment of any kind to the school you MUST have CASH, money order or a certified check from your banking institution.  This includes book fines, fundraising items, uniforms, tickets for school sponsored events including ball games, dances, etc...If you have reservations about sending cash you may send the money in a sealed envelope with your child's name printed on the front, and instruct him/her to turn it in to the bookkeeper as soon as he/she arrives at school in the morning or give it to his/her homeroom teacher upon entering homeroom class.  We regret this policy became necessary and are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.  THIS DOES NOT PERTAIN TO SCHOOL LUNCHES. The cafeteria is separate from the school.  You may still send your check made out to EWMS cafeteria for lunches.  If you have any questions you many contact the school's bookkeeper's office at 327-47283 x234.
